BARBARESCO VANOTU RISERVA 2010

“Some may produce celebratory wines on a regular basis. Pelissero would rather do that only on special occasions…”

In May 2020 we repeated ourselves and for the second time we are releasing a limited edition of Barbaresco Vanotu Riserva 2010, a vintage celebrating the 50 years of history of our winery, put on sale exactly 60 years after the first bottle with Pelissero label sold for a few friends by our family in 1960.

The experience acquired over three generations and a work lasting ten years, as a tribute to the many wine lovers in almost 70 countries of the world who know and appreciate the history of our family, its wine tradition and the obstinate path of quality that distinguishes it.

It combines heart and reason, technical skill and passion for this hard and exciting work.
A collector’s wine that is a unique and unrepeatable opportunity for a journey through time and the style of Barbaresco.

The wine is made from the best grapes of the Vanotu vineyard, replanted by Luigi Pelissero in 1964, which gives a balanced and complex wine that releases all the strength of Nebbiolo on the nose with notes of blueberry, chamomile, blackberry, vanilla, sage, mint, black currant, red cherries, chocolate, violet, sweet tobacco, raspberry, truffle and a myriad of other sensations that only the great grape varieties can express at their best only through aging.
Warm, enveloping, tannic, slightly acidic and with a persistent and dry aftertaste, but decidedly pleasant and graceful, typical of Nebbiolo grown on the hills of Barbaresco.

The photographer Guido Harari concluded our work by making the wine a “family affair” by dressing it up with a package having the distinctive colors of the winery.
We are talking about our Ral 3004, that marc color which is iconic for us because it is used for the winery, for the cardboard boxes and now also for this special package.

The color which ideally accompanies us through the 70 countries where we are present.
The box is also embellished with calligraphies taken directly from the original sales deeds of the family vineyards.
